Preparing your PDF for Delivery & Production

All files must meet these requirements and be 100% complete.

Flattening Transparencies

Please make sure that when you are ready to save the project in pdf format you flatten all transparent objects.

Photoshop

In Adobe Photoshop merge all the layers by selecting the “Image” menu then navigating to the “Flatten Image” option.

Illustrator

Select All objects & layers, then click the “Object” menu and choose “Flatten Transparency” – Select the preset “High Resolution” and activate the “Convert Text To Outlines” and “Preserve Overprints…” this will convert the preset to “Custom”.

Exporting File

Refer to the settings below to correctly prepare your file for export.
Convert to CMYK in Photoshop

Color Mode

Please make sure that your project is designed in CMYK. Verify the format is in the CMYK color mode before saving to PDF. In Photoshop the selected mode should be  “Image -> Mode -> CMYK”.

Hide template dielines or leave them editable.

Die Lines

Die Lines must be left editable, If submitting a job with a standard die please remove it and specify which die you would like. Our Prep Dept. will place a removable die for proofing reasons.

Include 1/8" bleed on your artwork.

Bleeds

Please make sure that when you are ready to save the project in pdf format you include an 1/8 inch bleed on all sides, even if one side doesn’t bleed. It is necessary in order to keep the artwork centered to include the same bleed on all sides.
